One of my Rhode Island Reds in the nesting box. I don't artificially light my hens throughout the winter, so with shorter days come fewer eggs. But since it is spring, the girls are laying prolifically! Pickled eggs, anyone?
I always thought I wanted to live in the country....but not quite yet. However, fate intervened and when I met my future husband, I ended up on a 100 acre farm in southwestern Ontario. For this former city and town dweller, it was quite a change!
